1933 Sinaloa

This photograph shows a 1933 Sinaloa plate affixed to the rear of a car in Mazatlán, the Pacific resort city.   In 1933, Mexico introduced its first national issue. For passenger plates, the plate was black on orange with a 1933 tab with the same colors as the base plate. The large tab was affixed to the right side of the plate.  This base plate would be revalidated in 1934 with a red on white tab.

The car has a Goodrich EuzKadi brand tire cover and is marked “Hecho en México.

1929 – Mr. Ángel Urraza, being in charge of a small company of rubber heels, founds the Euzkadi Rubber Artifact Manufacturing Company, S.A.La perseverance in the work together with the quality of the product and vision for the future created in an extraordinary way the most important company in Mexico and with the greatest market penetration in the sale of tires.

1931 – A building was built in Mexico City that would later be known as “Planta 1” for more than 50 years.

1933 – The need to manufacture tires in Mexico was already imperative, a contract was signed through which Euzkadi would manufacture tires with materials, specifications and technical supervision from BF Goodrich, who from that date would deliver the technology to Euzkadi. In June 1933, the first Goodrich – Euzkadi tire size 4.75-19 manufactured in Mexico was vulcanized.
