Until now, the only known municipal plates issued in the Baja California territories have been Tijuana and Mexicali in Territorio Norte and San Jose Del Cabo in Territorio Sur.\u00a0 This photograph suggests there was also a series of plates used in La Paz, the capital city of Baja Sur territory.\u00a0 This colorized photo shows what appears to be a 1927 Ford Model T with a white on black #1 plate, reportedly issued to a taxi driver.\u00a0 Can you help decipher the legends on the plate.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\r\n
We know that in the mid-1920s, Baja California used a two-column stacked designation of “Baja Cal” on the right side.\u00a0 There’s a known 1925 plate with this designation, and we’ve never seen any photos for 1926 either.\u00a0 On the left on this photo, it appears as it might read “La Paz” vertically, but its difficult to verify given the resolution of the photo.\u00a0 It appears to be letters opposed to numbers (as in a date), we we need further analysis and research to reach any conclusions.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\r\n
