On August 7, 1911 this photograph was taken in Morelia, Morelos.  The “Todos ‘Chalmer”” describes the line up of Chambers touring cars.  Note that none of the six news cars have any license plates on the front.  This rasies a few questions:

1  Were these new cars delivered to a dealership and therefore not yet registered?

2. Did Morelos only issue plates for the rear?

3. Or, did Morelos not issue nor require plates this early in motoring history–either on a municipal, state, or federal level?
