AMA is the Asociación Mexicana Automovilística, the leading motorist aid organization in the country. Like the AAA in the United States, Mexico’s AMA is a long-standing non-profit organization.
Founded in 1929, upon the completion of the Monterrey-Nuevo Laredo highway, AMA has served the community through its roadside assistance program. The AMA web site states its mission: “One of AMA’s most significant contributions has been establishing an emergency roadside service program, and undoubtedly, its commitment to educating the public about the importance of road safety is what keep sit as the leading company in its field nationwide.”
